The St. Anthony Boys Golf Team had a historical season. Coach Phil Zaccari’s 25th season was one for the record books. The Varsity team went 5-0 in matches and competed in 15 tournaments, winning 10 and placing 2nd in 4 others. These included the State postseason where they won the Regional, and the program’s 6th State Championship. Juniors Dakota Flaig and Joey Trupiano tied for Regional Medalist Honors with Dakota winning in a playoff. Senior Lane Ludwig and Junior Joey Trupiano tied for 11th individually at the State Finals. Team members included: Seniors, Lane Ludwig, Preston Phillips, Charlie Wegman; Juniors, Dakota Flaig, Ryan Schmidt, Joey Trupiano; Sophomores: Maddux Clark, Alec Hakman, Jack Swingler.
The JV, or Varsity 2.0, coached by Jacob Schmidt, went 19-1 in matches and competed in 7 tournaments winning the JV Invitational, placing 2nd behind our Varsity in 2 Tournaments, and placing in the top half of 4 other “Varsity” Tournaments. Team Members included: Seniors Luke Anderson & Teddy Dietzen; Junior Ethan Karolewicz; Sophomores Drake Brown, Maddux Clark, Alec Hakman, & Jack Swingler; Freshmen, Cole Adams, Gabe Huebner, Andrew Meyer & Keegan Overbeck.
Team award winners were Varsity Low Handicap-Joey Trupiano, Varsity Leading Scorer-Dakota Flaig, JV Low Handicap-Jack Swingler, JV Leading Scorer-Alec Hakman, Most Improved-Luke Anderson.
