The 2024 Spring Baseball Season finished with a record of 27-5-1 and ended with winning their last game making them State Champions. The St. Anthony Bulldogs baseball team, led by Coach Tony Kreke captured their second State baseball title in the school’s history as they defeated Maroa-Forsyth in a hard-fought battle, ultimately capturing the win 8-5 in the 2A state championship game to claim the state title. The Bulldogs cap off a historic season, winning the trophy after bumping up from 1A last spring.
The spring season had a lot of accomplishments, such as boasting a 20-5-1 record going into postseason. This ’23-’24 baseball team had a record of 51-6-1 including both fall and spring seasons.
The Bulldogs won the T-Town Wooden Bat Tournament, NTC regular season champs, and were the NTC tournament champs in the fall. This spring also included winning the City Series, as well as Regional, Sectional and Super Sectional Championships and eventually the State Championship.
This team has a lot to be proud of, but most importantly they can remember what it takes to achieve their goals. This team trusted the process and focused on the team first, and truly believed that when you put your teammates first and believe in each other that you can achieve anything. Their display of “Quiet Confidence” really shined through in the biggest moments of the season. The confidence they shown in the toughest times will be something that can be passed on to future Bulldog teams and will leave a lasting legacy.
The seniors on this year’s team are Connor Roepke, Max Koenig, Beau Adams, Nick Ruholl, and Jordan Jones. These 5 guys will be greatly missed but will be remembered for their unbelievable work ethic and high character.
We want to thank the parents, fans and administrators for this awesome season. We look forward to the future seasons and we wish the seniors best of luck in their future.
