The St. Anthony Bellettes began preparing for the season last summer, practicing for both home basketball performances and competition. Their hard work paid off as they opened competition season on January 10 in Charleston, where they earned 1st place in IDTA and finished in the top three in IHSA. The following weekend in Marion, the Bellettes again took home 1st place in IDTA.
The team continued its strong season at IHSA Sectionals on January 23, where a 4th-place finish earned them a trip to state. At the IHSA State Finals, the Bellettes placed 18th in the state, representing St. Anthony with pride. They closed out the season on February 14 at IDTA State in Springfield, where they captured 1st place in 1A Jazz. The Bellettes’ season was a great reflection of their talent, dedication, and commitment to excellence.
The Bellettes are coached by Tarah Haskenherm and include seniors Rylan Boggs, Addison Bunton, Liv Hoene, Mia Kinkelaar, and Ellie Link.
