St. Anthony High School celebrates Melissa Willenborg (’92), who was honored as Volunteer of the Year for her exceptional contributions to Effingham County. Melissa helped start 100+ Women Who Care of Effingham County, a group that has donated over $300,000 to local non profits since its inception in 2016. She also played a pivotal role in revitalizing the St. Anthony Hall of Fame, introducing the now popular spring gala event.
Steve Raymond, News Report Publisher, praised Melissa’s dedication: “When this person gets involved, things get done.” Her impact extends across numerous organizations, including the St. Anthony School Board, the Effingham Women’s Tennis League, the CEO program, and the Chamber.
Humbled by the recognition, Melissa thanked her “village” of volunteers, noting that it takes a community to make a difference. Her volunteer work with 100+ Women Who Care is something she holds dear, encouraging others to join and be moved by the group’s mission.
