St. Anthony High School’s Technology Application class traveled to Johnson County Community College in Kansas City on April 24 and 25 to compete in a battle bot competition featuring teams from across the Midwest.
The competition included 13 schools and 22 total bots. St. Anthony entered two bots, B.I.G.M.A.C. and B.A.G., with each finishing the competition with two wins and two losses. The overall championship was awarded to Dino, a bot from Fort Zumwalt West High School.
Although St. Anthony did not finish at the top of the competition, the trip provided students with valuable hands-on experience in engineering, design, problem-solving, and competition strategy. Students were accompanied by their teacher, Mrs. Wenthe, and sponsor Kevin Vogel of Vogel Manufacturing.
